General announcement

Tue Sep 4, 2007, 6:36 PM
Anyone who is reading this has probably already realized this, but I'm really not active on DA anymore. I don't predict that changing any time in the near future, if ever. However, I do have some jewelry ideas that I hope to act on very soon. So perhaps you'll see some updates from me soon. Then again, perhaps not!

------

This account is now officially for my new craft, jewelry-making, exclusively. I went through and deleted (almost) all of my old stuff, so I'm sorry for anyone that had a strong desire for me to keep it posted. If anyone wants a .jpg of any of my previous work, just note me and I'll email it to you.

I am now officially open for jewelry commissions. My tentative pricing is as follows:

$10 for a simple one-strand necklace
- Up to 1 pendant/dangle included, but $2 extra each after that
$15 for simple multiple-strand necklaces
$20 for complex multiple-strand necklaces

$5 for simple one-stranded bracelets
$10 for multiple-strand bracelets

Earrings I haven't made very many of yet, but I am willing and able to make earrings to match any necklaces/bracelets you may want. If you're interested, we can discuss prices.

You would also be responsible for the cost of beads, a padded envelope, and shipping.

All commissioned jewelry will be made on high-quality beading wire with choice of color (black, silver, or bronze - though if you want to pay extra I could go out and purchase any wire color you desire). Some multiple-strand necklaces may be made on high-quality beading thread rather than wire because wire does not always sit well with multi-strand necklaces, but it depends on the design.

I strongly prefer PayPal. If you can't do PayPal, then a money order.

Basically, I'll make anything you want :) If you particularly like one of my pieces that I've posted already, I can make it for you and adjust it to suit your style. Or if you had something specific in mind, I can try to make it. Or perhaps you have a dress or outfit you need jewelry for... I can do that too! If you tell me a little bit about your personality, the stuff you like to wear, your favorite colors, etc. I can probably make something you like.

Note me if you're interested.

Life of tyggie

I've officially started my first year of veterinary medical school. I'm extremely... EXTREMELY busy with schoolwork already, and it's certainly not going to get any better from here. I'm officially saying that I'm stepping back with participating in the online art community, including DA. That means I'll likely not be making many, if any, regular comments on anyone's work anymore. It's just too much of a time commitment that I can't afford right now, and it's becoming more of a burden than anything else - I don't enjoy commenting when I really don't have time to think through my comments.
With that said, I'm cutting my watch list significantly. Please don't think this means I don't love your art, because that is just simply not the case. I just don't have time to browse like I used to and it stresses me out to have a long list of deviations in my devmessages. Those of you I keep on my watch list, I will likely still look at your work from time to time, but I wouldn't expect comments out of my very frequently. With that said, of course I will not feel badly if you don't comment on my work either :)
I'm going to continue to post jewelry as I make it, which isn't going to be very frequently due to said busy schedule. However, whenever I do have some "me time," hopefully I will dabble in some more jewelry-making. And I hope you all still have a peek!
This does not mean I don't love you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   I just wanted to give an explanation for why I'm not active anymore and just honestly don't think I will be in the future. Much love is still flying freely from me to you ;)
That's all for now!

Current ongoings and future plans

Fri Jun 2, 2006, 9:02 PM
So I've decided my new craft is going to be jewelry-making. You can see the first couple of works of mine on my page already. Eventually, I will likely take down my anthro art and use this page exclusively for displaying my jewelry work. This will likely cause a lot of you to stop watching me... I hope not, but hey, if all you care about is the anthro stuff then you probably shouldn't be watching me anymore anyway ;)
I am going to be taking jewelry commissions... as in custom-made jewelry, made to match outfits or dresses or whatever. I imagine this may become more lucrative as my skills improve. But I'd be willing to make jewelry for pretty dirt cheap so... holla at me if you're interested.
Anyway... as for non-art things...
I'll be finished with my Master's degree by Tuesday, assuming I pass my thesis defense and oral examinations *sweatdrop*... my thesis ended up being 122 pages long. For those of you who are not aware, my graduate research is in captive cheetah reproductive endocrinology. Pretty interesting stuff!
And now for future plans...
I'm off to Michigan State in the fall. College of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 2010. I can't WAIT to start!
That's all for now... :)

Reaching for my dreams

Sun Mar 12, 2006, 8:35 AM
Hello all! It's been another long while since I've posted anything on here.
I just wanted to let everyone know, for those who may care, that I've been accepted to Michigan State's College of Veterinary Medicine. I'm still waiting to hear from a couple of my other top-choice schools (Ohio State and Western University, specifically), but I received my acceptance letter from Michigan last week.
For those of you who have been supportive of me throughout the years of my being on DA, I thank you sincerely. Those who may know me a little better know that this has been my lifelong dream and an uphill struggle for me.
I imagine that some of you may be interested in veterinary medicine as a field in the future. Allow me to tell you how ridiculously competitive it is. If anyone has any questions about the process of getting in, or anything else about it, please feel free to contact me!
But... I'm going to be a vet! :) :) :)
